Coyotes In Crescent Hill

People living in a Louisville neighborhood just minutes from downtown say they've spotted coyotes.  E-mails have been sent out to people living in Crescent Hill warning people to keep an eye on their children and pets.

On a typical day in Crescent Hill you may find a person walking a dog and people playing golf, so when Sue Ritman heard one of her neighbors had recently seen and heard coyotes howling in her backyard, she immediately warned people on her street.

Mark Steven with Critter Control, a Louisville company that specializes in removing pretty much any animal that makes you want to run the other way, says since January he has captured and removed more than 30 coyotes from Louisville and 10 from Locust Grove.

Stevens was not surprised to hear about the coyotes spotted in Crescent Hill.  He says the coyote can adapt to almost any environment and as long as the food source is good, they will make anywhere home. However, he says coyotes and people will never make a good mix.
